Jim Sutton's Greene County Burial Database
There were over 13,000 entries in the Burial Database As of January 1, 2008
Several years ago (1956) George Robinson and friends of Washington Court House, Ohio, and Martha Hollingsworth of Bowersville, Ohio and K. Taylor of Xenia, Ohio undertook a volunteer project at assisting Townships with a comprehensive listing of burials in our Greene County Cemeteries. In the 1970's the Data was updated by several volunteers. In 2006 all burials from 1972 thru 2006 was provided by Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown, Ohio and the data was included in the Database.
The following cemetery database pages were collected from researchers who visited the many cemeteries in Greene County and transcribed the tombstone markings, then they published a record of the cemeteries in Book form. I have taken their data along with other source documents such as funeral home records, and included all the cemeteries I have a record of into a Database. I am also updating the data from obituaries published in the Xenia Gazette.
